Life is a work in progress and this is my attempt to shape it…

My history? I split the first years of my life first living in Florida and then later Kentucky, where my mother’s family and their family and their family and their family have lived for longer than the state has been a state. I guess that’s what you call roots. We moved to Paducah, Kentucky (from Florida) when I was seven and my mother, still to this day, hangs out with people she attended kindergarten with. I still don’t know how to react to that.

Roots or not, I headed out living in Ohio, western Kentucky, Colorado, Las Vegas, and now I’m based in Chattanooga, Tenn. bringing us back to NOW.

My passions? I love to travel to new places and meet new people, especially (or should I say always) when it involves climbing. I have traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe in search of the most stellar lines, and breathtaking pitches to climb. The more I travel and climb, the more I want to travel and climb. It’s a vicious cycle, but traveling is more than just a pastime to me, it’s a lifestyle that keeps me always wanting more of things like this:

Beyond traveling and climbing, I (try to) write. Beyond contributing to Rock and Ice magazine, I have been published in numerous other publications such as Women’s Health, Aspen magazine, Climbing magazine, Rocky Mountain Sports, Landmark Books and SouthComm publishing among other regional and online publications. While my list is getting bigger, I still consider myself a work in progress, so please send any suggestions, comments and remarks my way. I will read through every one of them with a fine-toothed comb.

The photo in my banner was taken while in Barcelona in November of 2009, where I climbed throughout Catalunya for three weeks. Fellow climber and friend,Matt Ginley took the photo in a small outside cafe in the heart of the city. I couldn’t wait to drink my coffee because, as you can see, I love it — anytime, anywhere. I love it almost as much as bacon, which we all know is the most delicious thing ever created by the universe. Especially encompassing dates.

Obsessed with climbing, travel, food and finding the the words to describe all of these things, I am also interested in Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga, snacking and Spanish wines.
